All of our own kits are designed and built in Lancaster, South Carolina. Some kits are built on an as need basis. Others are kitted in small, specialty production runs. Others will be kept in stock on the shelf. Currently, we have one model available but more are on the way!
Primus Short-Plus Kit: $120 Full Kit: $150 The Primus is a present day representation of the 1963 Taurus featured in Model Airplane News. It was originally designed by Ed Kazmirski and "wowed" the crowds at all of the contests it was entered into. Mr. Kazmirski did a great job of bringing in a cutting edge design for the times. The name "Primus" is taken from a small community near Lancaster, SC.
The Primus is completely different from the Taurus, and
yet the same. By all appear-
ances it is the original Taurus - same lines, shape, and wing
foil. However, it's been
overhauled and revised to reflect present materials, engines,
accessories, and building
techniques.
There are three versions of these laser cut kits,
the short kit, a short plus kit, and a full kit.
The short kit consists of a canopy, top block, landing
gear, drawing copies, short instructions,
ribs, fuselage
formers, firewall, landing gear doublers, horizontal stabilizer beam, vertical
stabilizer, and rudder. The short plus kit includes all of the
aforementioned plus balsa
fuselage sides, fuselage main doublers, elevators,
hardwood landing gear blocks &
torsion blocks, and the fuselage nose
doublers. The full kit includes everything in the
short plus kit plus all of
the wood stock to complete the wing, fuselage, and horizontal
stabilizer.
The following new items have been added to the full
kit: nylon pin hinges, front
landing gear, 5/32 collars,
control horns, steering arm assembly, landing gear
straps, and nylon wing bolts.
What you need to complete the kit: push rods, push
rod links, wheels, fuel tank,
fuel tubing, .45 - .61 engine (2-cycle), epoxy, CA,
radio, covering, motor
mount, spinner, and
a prop.
The plane is rated for a .45 to .61 glow. A little bit larger for four
cycle. The wingspan
is 70", almost six feet. It will weigh in around 5.5
- 6.5 pounds, depending on what is
installed into it. The kit is designed for the
intermediate or experienced builder. As
mentioned above, plans and instructions are included,
but the builder is expected to
possess knowledge of basic building techniques.
The short plus kit $120, and the
full kit is $150. Club prices: five or more kits $145
each, 10 or more kits
$140 each. All prices include shipping within the continental
United States...SHIPPING IS FREE!!
